Eaton Canyon
If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, then you’ve probably heard of Eaton Canyon before, particularly of its falls trail. You may have heard some of your friends raving about it or maybe you’ve read an article about it online or in some magazine. But as they say, you can believe anything you hear these days, even if it’s from a good friend. One of the rumors about the fall trail is that it’s quite dangerous. Instead of just listening to the stories, why don’t you try the trail and see for yourself if it’s really as dangerous as some people say it is.
Despite the rumors of it being dangerous, the Eaton Canyon Falls Trail is still very popular. Many people go there. One could also say that it’s the rumors that have made it a popular destination. And indeed, if you do decide to go on a hike on Falls Trail, you’ll soon find out that you’re not going to be lonely even if you go there just by yourself. 
Some people may even be put off by the number of people that they’ll see on the trail. It’s definitely not for introverted adventurers. But it’s a good thing that there’s plenty of space on the trail. You shouldn’t feel that your personal space is being violated at any point.
The trail starts off easy. And for the first mile of the hike, you’ll find yourself going in and out of the shade. On this part of the trek, you can enjoy the view of the trees and even some houses. There’s a part of the journey where you’ll reach a bridge. The path splits in this area and you must choose the path on the left. It will take you to a path that goes under the bridge.
Here is where the trail becomes more interesting in terms of the view. The view actually becomes more and more beautiful as you make your way up to the falls. There’s even a part where you’ll need to cross a stream.
The only thing that might prevent you from completely enjoying the part of the trail is the number of people who are going the same way. Your journey will slow down a little on this part so you may need to have more patience. You don’t only have to worry about the people walking with you but also those who are coming back. Apart from the number of people, you’ll also slow down because of the number of creeks that you’ll need to cross. You can use the downtime to get some bit of rest. Otherwise, you may become irritated and lose your focus.
On your way to the big waterfall, you’ll encounter several smaller waterfalls. And they are beautiful in their own way. You’ll also pass by a number of small abandoned buildings. There are also plenty of beautiful lush trees in the area. Take some time to take in the beauty of your surroundings.
You can even take pictures if you want to. It’s a good way to pass the time as you wait for people to pass by. It’s a really beautiful trail with beautiful views. It’s easy to understand why it’s a popular trail both with casual and seasoned hikers. It’s also unclear where the rumors of the trail being dangerous started but you’ll discover on your journey that there’s nothing to fear at all.
When you hear the sound of people getting excited and a faint sound of water, then you should take that as a sign that you’re near your destination. What will greet you when you reach the falls will surely take your breath away. The fall at the end of the trail is 40 feet tall. The falling water gathers into a small pool below the falls. It surely is a nice place to relax.
But again, the crowd will be your number one enemy here. During peak season, you can expect to see more than 100 people gather at the waterfalls. It surely makes it challenging to get a decent picture. So what you can do is just try to block the noise from the crowd and just soak in the view as much as you can if you can’t take an unobstructed photo of the falls.
